The post referenced an inaugural RGIC Boston Science Symposium held in conjunction with the opening, with a scientific program covering CVRM disease biology, human genetics and AI-driven drug discovery, according to Chakravarthy's LinkedIn post.

That outlet also noted Roche's roughly $1.4 billion investment in a Basel research and development center with about 1,000 laboratory and office workplaces, offering a point of comparison for the scale of the company's Boston ambitions.

Roche has said it employs more than 25,000 people in the United States and has invested $11 billion domestically over the past decade, according to the company's own March 2025 announcement. The Allston center becomes the latest and largest piece of that U.S. footprint, positioned inside a Harvard-led development that Roche was the first company to join.
